About Mila Boyd.

I didn't start designing to make beautiful things. I started designing to solve a feeling. The feeling of standing in a space that doesn't feel like you.

I am not a single thing. I am a system.

I'm Mila Boyd. Most people arrive at design with one skill. I arrived with a life's worth of observation. Growing up between cultures taught me to read rooms before anyone spoke, to sense what a space communicated, what a person needed, what an environment was quietly saying about the people who lived inside it.

That sensitivity became my advantage. Before I knew the words visual hierarchy, Gestalt psychology, or UX/UI, I already understood them emotionally. I understood when something felt expensive versus disorganized, when a business felt trustworthy or uncertain, when a space felt like refuge or like noise.

Today, I channel everything I have ever learned (design, psychology, technology, flooring, branding, emotional intelligence, systems thinking) into one focused purpose: helping people build environments and digital products that feel exactly like who they intend to be.

The Three Pillars

How I actually work.

01 · Design Thinking

Spatial to digital.

From spatial awareness to digital interfaces, I design systems that guide the eye, calm the mind, and build trust before a single word is read.

02 · Human Psychology

Emotion first.

Every decision a client makes is emotional first, rational second. I engineer experiences that meet people where they truly are, not where they say they are.

03 · Business Architecture

Systems that scale.

Beautiful systems that scale. From flooring consultations to digital platforms, I build structures that generate trust, loyalty, and long-term revenue.

The Principles That Anchor Everything

Five anchors. Every project.

I believe wealth is not a number, it is a system. A system of trust, of value, of emotional intelligence applied consistently over time. Every project I take on is built around the same five anchors.

01

Clarity

The highest form of design. Remove what does not earn its place.

02

Precision

The details that create trust. The pixel and the seam are the same idea.

03

Warmth

Strength that feels human. The work should welcome you in, not perform at you.

04

Legacy

Systems that outlast trends. Built to be defensible in five years, not five weeks.

05

Growth

Continuous evolution. The system improves as I do.

What I Build

The Journey

I started on the floor.

Literally. Measuring rooms, pulling samples, standing next to homeowners as they made the most expensive decision of their year. I moved up through senior design roles at Floor & Decor, CS Floors and Home Depot, eventually carrying $945K+ in annual sales and a 25% store contribution rate. First and only designer in store history to reach it (store average 16 to 17 percent). Now I am studying UX/UI at Pierce College and rebuilding that same rigor inside a digital practice.

"Critical thinking is your strongest skill. Build custom design systems to stand out from generic UI components. Strong case studies are the most important strategy."

That is exactly the portfolio I am building here.

Where I'm Headed

What I'm building toward.

A senior product design role where physical-world experience meets digital systems thinking. I am pursuing roles in construction tech, remodel platforms, home-improvement apps, and AEC tools. The places where my decade in flooring and interiors is not a footnote on my resume, it is the reason I get hired.

My Belief

Wealth is not a number, it is a system.

A system of trust, of value, of emotional intelligence applied consistently over time. Every project I take on is built around the same five principles: clarity, precision, warmth, legacy, growth.
